The build starts with how you ride

Your routes

Tell us how much tarmac, tracks and trails you ride, your usual distances and whether you plan to carry luggage.

Your position

We review the size and position you want for your rides. Height is only a starting point; body proportions and preferences matter too.

Your build

We define wheels, tyres, drivetrain and contact points according to use and the compatibility of the complete build.

Options and compatibility for each build are checked before the proposal is confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

Axalko frames combine wood and technical plant fibres in a hollow, multilayer structure that brings together stiffness and lightness. We work with beech, birch, ash and walnut, combined with plant fibres such as flax. Small aluminium inserts in the head tube, bottom bracket and rear dropouts connect the frame to component standards.

Yes. The laminated structure distributes forces and reduces weight. The laminated wood is treated to withstand weather conditions, much as wooden boats have crossed oceans for centuries.

The frame construction dissipates vibrations from the terrain. Think of the feel of a hammer with a wooden or fibre handle: the material changes how vibration reaches your hand.

Special treatments protect the wood from moisture and weather changes. As in wooden boat construction, frames are sealed and coated for durability and water resistance.

Tell us about your planned build, luggage and routes so we can confirm that the frame and components suit your intended use.

Weights are for size M frames only: Classic, 2,090 g; Wood and Flax 2027, 1,680 g. Complete bicycle weight depends on the build.

Frames have protective treatments. Follow the cleaning, drying and maintenance instructions supplied with your bicycle.
